Milkweeds are bright and aromatic perennial flowers that attract all types of small insect wildlife. I've witnessed various bees, invasive Japanese Beetles and aphids to the variety of moths and butterflies. Some milkweeds are considered endangered species.
These sweet smelling flowers are the perfect pollinators; when they begin their ending phase, they sprout green large pods that have seeds inside. When they are ready to open, it releases thin and silky threads attached to smaller seeds. They will fly away with the wind and implant into the ground. The roots of these flowers go deep and it's amazing to see the stages of its life.
