Sweet Peas

Sweet Peas come in a variety of colors and have a fantastic aroma. Several insects I have seen are attracted to them. Most of the time, I have seen bees collecting the sweet nectar. The typical lifespan of sweet peas are the summer into the fall.

They can grow in various spots if you are not careful, such as alongside of a house and are notorious fence climbers! Once they start to wither away, their color changes from pale pink to dark purple. After the petals fall, a pod will slowly emerge that contains more seeds. These pods will eventually open, allowing the process to start all over again.
