Stiglmeier Park is located in Cheektowaga, NY and it is one of its hidden gems. Walk along the many trails as you encounter intriguing trees, listen to cool flowing waters of Cayuga Creek and encounter wildlife. Reinstein Woods Nature Preserve is nearby as get lost in the joys of nature. Check out my previous previous post about Reinstein and enjoy the splendor.

Lockport, NY

Lockport, NY is famous for its contribution to the Erie Canal. It is home to the Flight of Five which are the original double canal levels that boats travel as the water rises and lowers.

You can take a boat ride to experience and see how the canal works at Locks #34 and 35, or walk along the trails. The sight is breathtaking no matter what view you are looking at.

Glen Park

Glen Park is located in Williamsville, NY with tranquil settings. You will find the beautiful Glen Falls which runs off from Ellicott Creek. The water continues to flow into another park across the street.

Here you will find a variety of flower and small wildlife. Nearby is Sweet Jenny's Ice Cream which serves delicious sweets and ice cream.

Niawanda Park

Niawanda Park is located in Tonawanda, NY as it follows along the Niagara River. This bike to trails is 2.5 miles can take you all the way to Buffalo, NY!

There is the Old Erie Canal swing bridge which connected North Tonawanda and Tonawanda. This was allowed canal boats to pass over and then swing back into place for the trains to cross. It was in use from 1862 to the 1960s.

Every time I come here, I see a different section and enjoy the surrounding wildlife from Heron, ducks, geese and seagulls.
